DOMINO is one fascinating , vein rending , hair harrowing stage play of rape and abuse , it is characterised with high violence laced inter- domestic crime and sexual molestation stage play . It touches on the plight of the women race and the agony of girl child under the burdening yoke of historical stereotypes , redundant cultural perceptions , sheer chauvinistic cruelty and abject human physical and mental poverty that have since subjected women and girls into dungeons of pain , molestation , sexual violence , stagnation, discrimination and sufferance .
DOMINO brings into fore vices of our day to day lives , the breaking news of rape and violent stories that we experience and is experienced by young girls every day of God under that burden of dictatorial tendencies of chauvinists at home and workplace .This world has since become a bitter place than better for the feminine race to live . Fathers and stepfathers raping their daughters , mothers silencing the bruised voices of their molested to avoid humiliation , daughters strangling the products of rape ( children) due to despair and humiliation. DOMINO is a timeless story. It is a story of the past, present and future. It educates us that small crime breeds vice , vice breeds more crime , more crime breeds shame , shame breeds doubt , doubt breeds fear , fear breeds fate and fate breeds crisis and crisis into death.
The main character in the play ,Savannah endures the scars of sexual violence , brunt of threats and intimidation from her materially rich and morally deficient step father who had married her mother after the demise of her biological father : COMPLEXITIES OF AFRICAN SOCIAL CULTURE. Savannah had become a secret love concubine of her mother’s husband such an abomination .Her mother failed her, her sexual rights and her voice were stifled. She unexpectedly became pregnant , her stepfather committed suicide imprison , she strangled her one year old daughter .Herself and her mother suffered a lot as they endured this life pricking experience , an abomination , shame and distress that had been by her morally empty stepfather .
DOMINO is a timeless short story it seeks to counsel, to educate, to warn and to entertain. At other end the name SAVANNAH who is a victim of rape is a political connotation and DOMINO can be a political satire revealing how Africa was raped politically , anthropologically , culturally , economically and morally by the erstwhile colonisers ,imperialists and capitalists of this world who have turned with the aid of warlords and puppets Africa into a ditch of abject poverty , haven of epidemics , hub of war and death , neo colonialism and moral suffocation. Africa today toils in economic depression, political turmoil, social malady and cultural dissidentry. Africa today has seen its leaders looting gluttonously the riches of Africa that include minerals ,land in exchange of guns , political favours and GMOS with the West . Peasants , workers , women , girls and voters are raped every day and are juggled as propaganda lottery balls and slogan tools by these autocratic , pseudo-democrats who have since pimped the virginity of their land for political expediency The step father in the play is representation of capitalism , male chauvinism and dictatorship . DOMINO is a must watch play of life.
