POI- 2018 is a year of new things ,new ideas , new empowerment and just greatness and newness. Meeting Hildah Tafadzwa Princess Maritinyu is a great inspiration and a life time training . The Princess is a bundle of talents- She is a creative and a social entrepreneur, a poet , writer ,counselor and a teacher. An absolute all rounder .Tafadzwa is also an advocate of gender equality and cancer awareness. Maritinyu is also a God- fearing mother and a beacon of light to her immediate society and Zimbabwe as a whole . This gem of social and creative entrepreneurship hails from a little recognized,clay earthed town located on the peripheral hems of large cities of Chinhoyi and Harare. Despite coming from this smalland down trodden farming town of Banket . Maritinyu has defied all odds through her absolute resolve and sheer tenacity . She is a symbol change , hope ,light and dignity to her community and the nation at large. POI is greatly gratified to feature the Princess in this inspirational installment. 1. What is your greatest life, artistic, academic and creative Achievements?
a)life achievement was finding Christ
b)artistic achievement is being able to put my thoughts to paper
c)academic achievement ,I am yet to achieve my ultimate goal of going to university
d)creative achievements, Inspiring and motivating others with my writings
2. What roles are you playing in transforming your communities?
a)I am a volunteer with Zimbabwe Cares Network,Zimbabwe Cancer Carers and 1000 BPP(Books Pens Pencils)..I am an advocate for children’s welfare being passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.
3. What are your future prospects in your career and your life?
a)To be able to publish a book i have been writing and a collection of poems and short stories
b)to establish a halfway house for women and children in dire straits,to open a day care centre
c)to open a life skills centre for women in marginalised communities
4. What is your parting shot to fellow women and girls?
a)we are more than just pretty faces and beautiful bodies..we are our brains ..no more excuses,use those brains and you can hit the glass ceiling
